Lionel Messi scores his 700th career goal for club and country.

The Barcelona superstar achieved the milestone on Tuesday, scoring a cheeky panenka spot-kick in his team’s 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou.

The 33-year-old has now scored 630 times for Barcelona in 724 appearances in all competitions and another 70 goals for Argentina in 138 caps.

He joins his arch-rival, Cristiano Ronaldo as the second active footballer in the 700-goal club.

The Juventus and Portuguese striker accomplished the achievement last October in a Euro 2020 qualifier on a penalty kick vs. Ukraine, the 973rd game in his career. He currently has 728 goals to his name.

Others on the 700-goal club are Josef Bican (805 goals), Romario (772), Pelé (767), Ferenc Puskas (746), Gerd Muller (735)
