Two UN officials In Isreal Suspended Over A Viral Video

Two employees of the United Nations mission in Israel have been suspended without pay after a viral video featured a sex act in their official vehicle, as it drove down a major street in Tel Aviv.

Recall that in the 18-second video, a woman in a red dress was seen straddling a man in the back seat of clearly marked white UN vehicle. Another man appears to be asleep in the passenger seat.

In a statement released on Thursday July 2, the UN said the men in the video have been identified as staff members of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), UN military observers based in Israel.

Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN’s secretary general said the two staff members have been suspended without pay until the investigation into the incident has concluded.

Dr Clare Wenham, assistant professor of global health policy at the London school of Economics, appeared on BBC via video call for an interview, however there was a pleasant distraction in the background.

During the video call to discuss the Coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, July 1, Wenham’s daughter, Scarlett, is seen in the background trying to position a photo frame.

BBC newsreader, Christian Fraser then engaged Scarlett in a conversation and the girl decided to take the conversation further.

The Nigerian police has denied detaining Seyitan Babatayo, the lady who accused singer, D’banj, of rape.

A police source who spoke to Vanguard, said D’banj reported on three separate occasions at FCID for interrogation and statement, while Seyitan repeatedly refused to show up. Her alleged non-appearance led to the prompt dispatch of officers by the Force CID to Lagos, to invite her for written statement and interrogation on the alleged rape incident.

The police source insisted that there might be a mix up by the legal representative of Seyitan over claims of being arrested and detained by Police operatives at Ikeja in Lagos for 24 hours.

The security official insisted that the alleged rape victim was only invited to give her written statement and also to be interrogated as it was necessary for her to come forward to give a statement to back up her accusation.
