A 39 Year Old Man Has Been Arrested For Raping A 13 Year Old Girl.

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl after taking shelter in her mom’s shop on a rainy day.
Abdul Abdul, 39, was arrested by the Police in Jos, Plateau State.

Abdul, a married father-of-six who lives in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area, allegedly committed the crime on June 8, when he went into the girl’s mother’s shop to buy water.

Speaking to newsmen on Monday, July 13, Abdul claimed what he had with the girl was “sex” not rape. He said he took shelter in the girl’s mum’s shop after buying 20 Naira sachet water following a break from the building project he was involved in in the house opposite the shop.

He claims that he remained in the shop, discussing with the girl after buying the water. He said he touched her shoulder and she didn’t resist so he went further. He added that she pulled down her trousers herself and encouraged him to ejaculate in her.

He said he ejaculated on her thighs instead and when he was done, she ran out screaming for help, thereby drawing the attention of neighbours.

He added that the girl is someone he knows well as they live on the same street. He also said the act was consensual.

The suspect has been charged to state High Court

602 repentant Boko Haram members denounced their membership of the terrorist group

602 repentant Boko Haram members have denounced their membership of the terrorist group and swore an oath of allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Monday, July 13.

The former insurgents, who have completed a de-radicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration program organized by Operation Safe Corridor, denounced their membership of the insurgent group at the Malam Sidi Camp in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State. They denounced their membership of the terrorist group before an 11-man Quasi-Judicial Panel headed by Justice Nehizena Afolabi, of the Federal High Court, Gombe.

The Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor, Maj. Gen. Bamidele Shafa, said the appearance of the repentant insurgents before the judicial panel was a major requirement before their reintegration into the society.

“The panel is for the clients to appear before it to confess their pasts and denounce their membership of Boko Haram, Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) as the case maybe and swear Oath of Allegiance to be loyal, discipline and obedient citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and then make commitment.

The commitment is that at the end of the programme, where they commit any offence, they stand to forfeit all privileges that they have acquired today and will be liable of offence against the State.” Shafa said

The Borno State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Zuwaira Gambo, said the state government already has a structure on ground that continues the process of reintegration for the repentant sect members.

“We will provide them with psycho-social supports; continue with religious admonition in order to make them good citizens of the country. We will also give them starter packs to help them practice the skills that had been acquired in the camp here,” Gambo said

According to her, all the reintegrated members of the sect are doing well. She disclosed that one of them makes N250, 000 from barbing on a monthly basis and has employed several youths into his barbing salon.

Judge Jeffrey Gilbert denied Hushpuppi bail.

Suspected Nigerian fraudster Ramon Abbas a.k.a Hushpuppi has been denied bail in the United States in spite of his lawyer, Gal Pissetzky insisting that his job as an Instagram celebrity paid for the $10,000 monthly rent on his luxury Dubai flat.

His lawyers had applied for him to leave jail with an electronic tag and live with the uncle of a woman with whom he has a child with, but US prosecutors opposed the bail application. UAE’s The National reported that prosecutors said he could commit crimes with just a smartphone and an internet connection, and that he posed too much of a flight risk.

Reacting to prosecutors’ argument, Pissetzky said his client had too much to lose if he flees from the United States.

He told a judge in Chicago by videolink;

“He is loved and respected. He is a celebrity. I don’t see the reason why he would want to ruin his credibility in the world and his status rather than stay here and face this allegation.

Anywhere he goes, people will know. Having grown up very poor in Nigeria, Mr Abbas is now paid to pose with high-priced items such as Louis Vuitton bags that people would buy after seeing his posts on Instagram. He is an influencer. That’s a job today, as much as it is hard to imagine. That’s a full-time job.”

Judge Jeffrey Gilbert who watched the proceedings from a prison video link, denied Hushpuppi bail on grounds of him being a flight risk. Gilbert ordered that the suspected Nigerian fraudster be remanded in custody until he is taken to a court in California.
